The Oklahoma Green Schools Program is offering two exciting summer workshops:

July 31, 2019: Oklahoma Green Schools 101 Workshop

This Green Schools 101 Teacher Workshop will introduce the Oklahoma Green Schools Program to anyone interested in helping their school to become a greener and healthier place to learn. Over the 3-hour workshop we will:

TALK ABOUT HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN THE OKLAHOMA GREEN SCHOOLS PROGRAM
EXPLORE THE FIVE GREEN SCHOOLS INVESTIGATIONS (ENERGY, ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY, SCHOOL SITE, WASTE & RECYCLING, WATER)
HOW TO OBTAIN GREEN SCHOOLS TOOL KITS AND RESOURCES
HEAR ABOUT OUR GRANT PROGRAM
SEE VIDEO DEMONSTRATIONS OF GREEN SCHOOLS IN ACTION

Each attendee will receive a printed copy of the Project Learning Tree GreenSchools Investigations and other helpful resources to get your started.

Wednesday, July 31, 2019 from 9:00 -3:00 at OSU Extension OK County, Conference Center. 2500 Northeast 63rd Street, Oklahoma City, OK 73111

Registration from 8:30-9:00. Workshop from 9:00-3:00. Participants will get a one-hour lunch break, for lunch on your own.

August 2, 2019: “Talkin’ Trash” – School Waste & Recycling Workshop

Join us for this informative workshop that will teach you about solid waste issues and help you design a waste reduction and recycling program for your school. Designed for K – 12th grade educators or staff, this workshop will give you the tools to help students explore waste management issues and options. We will have hands-on activities and expert speakers to guide us through waste management strategies and solutions that will allow us to make informed choices on waste management issues.

The workshop will be held at the OSU Extension Oklahoma County, Conference Center, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Lunch will be provided. The workshop is FREE and you will leave with resources and activities your students are sure to love! Plus you will have the knowledge and resources to implement a recycling program and waste reduction strategies at your school!
