OK Green Schools Summer Trainings 2022

Oklahoma Green Schools “101” Workshop – 6/21/22 from 9-3pm in Oklahoma City

This Green Schools 101 Teacher Workshop will introduce the Oklahoma Green Schools Program to anyone interested in helping their school to become a greener and healthier place to learn.

Over the 6-hour workshop we will:

TALK ABOUT HOW TO GET INVOLVED IN THE OKLAHOMA GREEN SCHOOLS PROGRAM
EXPLORE THE FIVE GREEN SCHOOLS INVESTIGATIONS (ENERGY, ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY, SCHOOL SITE, WASTE & RECYCLING, WATER)
HOW TO OBTAIN GREEN SCHOOLS TOOL KITS AND RESOURCES
HEAR ABOUT OUR GRANT PROGRAM
SEE VIDEO DEMONSTRATIONS OF GREEN SCHOOLS IN ACTION

Each attendee will receive a printed copy of the Project Learning Tree GreenSchools Investigations and other helpful resources to get your started.

Registration from 8:30-9:00

Workshop from 9:00-3:00. One hour break for lunch on your own.

Oklahoma Green Schools “Recycling at School” Workshop

This Green Schools Teacher Workshop will go through the steps of beginning a recycling program at your school

Over the 3-hour workshop we will:

TALK ABOUT THE DIFFERENT WASTE STREAMS IN SCHOOLS
DISCUSS HOW TO FORM A GREEN TEAM
HOW TO CONDUCT A WASTE AUDIT
IDENTIFYING HAULERS
CHOOSING WHAT ITEMS TO COLLECT
DEVELOPING A COLLECTION SYSTEM
EDUCATING YOUR SCHOOL COMMUNITY
MONITORING SUCCESS
COMMON OBSTACLES
